Mini Modular Number 10 - Green Grocer

I was looking forward to this rather old-school modular building - released way back in 2008 - the Green Grocer.

I hadn't done a "bay window" mini modular for a few days and knew this particular one wasn't going to be easy as it's not a straight 4 and 4 stud split between the two horizontal halves - that would have made it easier but I wanted to go 5 and 3 to keep to the original ratio of the full size model.

Having the 2x2 round bricks as the bay windows in the 3 stud width meant I had to do some pretty weird setups behind to get the single tile plates vertically either side of the windows!

This was also the first model I'd done with an alleyway all the way from front to back on the bottom floor - that was quite fun.

For the top roof on the bay windows I really wanted to use a 2x2 cone in light bluish gray but found that Lego never actually released it in that colour - not fair!  So I had to compromise.

All my designs are on Rebrickable right here - Chris Tromans on Rebrickable

Here's the Green Grocer in mini form :-)
